5/21/16 Buck Hill Trail Hike

Posted by Brendan McCaffrey on May 6, 2016 at 8:10 PM Comments comments (0)

Join us 9:30am Saturday May 21, 2016 for Boston Strength & Conditioning’s first team hike! We want our first event to be special so we are inviting everyone to experience one of Chris’ favorite outdoor spots in the Boston area, the Blue Hills in Canton, MA. Chris is an avid hiker who enjoys the serenity and simplicity of the wilderness. This hike is open to all of Boston Strength & Conditioning’s clients, family, and friends.

Chris will be leading the team hike up the Buck Hill Trail which takes us up part of the Skyline Trail. The path is a moderate 1.5 miles each way (3 miles round trip) with a stunning view of Boston from the top of Buck Hill. Upon arriving at the summit of Buck Hill we will stop and enjoy the scenery for roughly 30 minutes. Since it will be around 11:00am when we get to the summit we strongly suggest bringing a light lunch and something to drink on the trail.

Our meeting spot is Houghton Pond parking lot (it’s about ¼ mile down the road from the state police station). Look for the Orange Jeep and the three of us standing close by. We will be stepping off at promptly 9:30am, be sure to wear appropriate shoes and dress accordingly for the weather. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Stay strong,

BostonSC

A Little About Us

Hey Everyone,

With our grand opening coming this weekend, we wanted to take the time to indroduce ourselves in our first blog post. We hope to incorporate all of our interests into activities for the Boston Strength and Conditioning team, starting with our hike at the Blue Hills reservation on May 14th. We're looking forward to meeting you all at either our grand opening, at one of our classes or at one of our events!

Chris- I’m a huge fan of the outdoors! If it involves getting lost in the wilderness for days or snorkeling coral reef count me in! Although I love running around outside and exploring, you won't hear me complaining about a good hammock and fire pit. When I’m not wandering the outdoors, I stay active by running the Boston Marathon course on a regular basis as a resident of Newton as well as open water swimming at Walden pond.

Brendan- I love traveling and exploring the Boston area with my wife Leisha; I grew up in West Roxbury and now live in Brighton and love finding new beaches, restaurants and hidden gems in the Boston area. I compete in powerlifting but I love to try new things and try to incorporate multiple practices into my training. I’m a Marine Corps veteran, and that is where I found my love for fitness. I don’t run often, but when I do its usually a local 5 or 10k with Leisha. I look forward to meeting you and helping in whatever way I can!

Charles- I’m a dynamic fitness enthusiast who enjoys spending my free time venturing out on day hikes and cycling through the countryside. I love getting my hands dirty by fixing cars and motorcycles, and some light home repair. I love spending time with my wife Michelle and our daughter Evelyn at home and love to make my own beer with them. My diverse interests definitely play into my training too. I’ve competed in everything from strongman to marathons. Plus, I’m told that I’m a pretty fun guy!
